How to Use the CRM Dashboard

How to Use the CRM Dashboard

February 25, 2026 · tropicalhilladmin

The CRM Dashboard is the first thing you see when you log in, and it's built to be rearranged rather than fixed. You get three built-in tabs — Leads, Sales, and Jobs — each pre-loaded with a curated set of widgets, plus a full catalog of 18 widgets you can mix into any tab, including your own custom ones.

Leads tab

Your default view when you open the Dashboard. It ships with four widgets:

  • Leads by Tag (Bar) — a bar chart of lead counts grouped by tag, so you can see at a glance which sources (referral, website form, Facebook ad, emergency call, and so on) are actually bringing in leads.

  • Lead Breakdown (Pie) — a pie chart of your lead distribution, switchable between grouping by tag or by status (new, contacted, estimate sent, won, lost).

  • Dashboard Tasks — a table of your recent tasks and their status, so follow-ups tied to leads stay visible without opening the full Tasks page.

  • Tasks Due — a stacked bar chart of tasks due per day, broken out by task type, so you can spot a day that's overloaded before it happens.

Sales tab

The numbers-heavy view for revenue, estimates, and invoicing. By default it includes nine widgets:

  • Revenue This Month — invoice totals this month compared with last month.

  • Tasks Completed — tasks completed this month compared with last month.

  • Sales by Product — a horizontal bar chart of sales totals grouped by product or service, so you know what's actually driving revenue.

  • Estimates Dollars — a bar chart of estimate totals per day or month.

  • Sales Dollars — a bar chart of invoice totals per day this month.

  • Revenue by Month — invoiced vs. collected revenue over the trailing 12 months, so you can see whether collections are keeping pace with what's being billed.

  • AR Aging — outstanding balance due, grouped by aging bucket, to flag overdue invoices before they become a cash-flow problem.

  • Top Services by Revenue — your highest-revenue services or line items over the trailing 12 months.

  • Sales Report (Table) — every invoice in the trailing 12 months in one table, with subtotals and a grand total.

Jobs tab

Built for day-to-day dispatching. It ships with two widgets:

  • Jobs Map — the next upcoming day's job visits plotted on a map, so you can see the day's route at a glance.

  • Upcoming Schedule — jobs and tasks due today, tomorrow, and this week in list form.

Widgets available in the catalog but not on a tab by default

These aren't pre-loaded anywhere, but you can add them to any tab from the widget catalog:

  • Total Leads — leads created this month compared with last month.

  • Open Estimates — open estimates issued this month compared with last month.

  • Recent Leads — a table of your most recent leads with status and tag, if you want a lead list without opening the full Leads page.

Adding and removing widgets

  • Click Add Widgets in the top-right corner of the Dashboard to open the widget catalog sidebar.

  • The catalog marks widgets already on your current tab so you don't add the same one twice.

  • Click any widget in the catalog to drop it onto the tab you're currently viewing — it's added to the bottom of the layout automatically.

  • To remove a widget, hover over it and use the remove control in its header. This only removes it from the tab you're viewing; the same widget can still live on other tabs.

Rearranging and resizing

  • Drag a widget by its header to move it anywhere on the grid.

  • Resize a widget from the handle in its bottom-right corner.

  • Layouts are saved per tab, so Leads, Sales, and Jobs — and any custom tabs — can each be arranged completely differently.

  • Changes save automatically a moment after you stop dragging or resizing; there's no separate save button.

Creating your own tabs

  • Click the + next to the tab row to create a new tab and give it a name.

  • Custom tabs start empty — add whichever widgets from the catalog make sense for that view.

  • Hover over any tab to reveal a pencil icon (rename) and, for custom tabs, a trash icon (delete).

  • The three built-in tabs — Leads, Sales, and Jobs — can be renamed but not deleted.

Starting over

Click Reset Dashboard to restore Leads, Sales, and Jobs to their original widgets and layout. This also removes any custom tabs you've created, so only use it when you actually want a clean slate.

A few tips

  • Put your most-used stat tiles — Total Leads, Revenue This Month — at the top of a tab so they're visible without scrolling.

  • If your team splits by role, try a custom tab per role: a lightweight "Front Desk" tab with just Dashboard Tasks and Lead Breakdown, kept separate from the full Sales reporting view.

  • Use AR Aging alongside Sales Dollars if collections are a recurring issue — seeing what's overdue next to what's billed makes it easier to prioritize follow-up calls.

  • The Sales Report table is the fastest way to sanity-check a month's invoices without exporting anything.
